Fifteen Razors

Striding the open ocean, following his evening dig, a man is seen bearing for land with his collection of fifteen Siliqua patulas, otherwise known as the Pacific Razor Clam.

As the evening tide makes its way back to the horizon, visitors at Pacific Beach State Park prepare for their trek towards the coastline. Equipped with shovels, clam-guns and a strong back, people labor and sweat for their daily limit of fifteen. These meaty shellfish can be found along the Pacific West Coast from the eastern Aleutian Islands, Alaska, to Pismo Beach, California.
